چکیده
Objective: To evaluate the importance of tip apex distance in implant failure intertrochanteric fracture femur treated with Dynamic hip screw, so that optimum should maintain to decrease DHS. Study Design: It was a descriptive cross sectional study. Setting and Duration: Patients were selected from orthopedic unit Nishtar Hospital, Multan, July 2020 June 2021. Methodology: All patients meeting inclusion criteria who presented included analysis. SPSS version 24.0 used analyse data. Quantitative data analysis done using means standard deviations like age distance. Categorical variables gender, functional outcome calculated as frequency percentage. Results: A total 81 mean male 38.51 SD 11.79, similarly female 41.87 11.60. Mean 16.08 8.49, 15.40 9.368. Tip Apex ≤ 25 cm 61 (75.3%) >25 12 (24.7%) patients. As concern variable (implant failure) (14.8%) having 69 (85.2%) successful outcomes. Practical implication: The use Hip Screw Intertrochanteric Fracture Femur would show improved clinical results fewer hardware failures Conclusion: is valuable measurement dynamic screw fixation femur. Comparison of Intertrochanteric Fracture Fixation with Dynamic Hip Screw and Bipolar Hemiarthroplasty Techniques
Background: At present, there is no consensus on an appropriate treatment modality for intertrochanteric fractures in the elderly with background diseases. The aim of the present study was to compare treatment outcomes of intertrochanteric fractures reduced with dynamic hip screws (DHS) and bipolar hemiarthroplasty in elderly patients with background medical conditions. Methods: In this randomi...
متن کاملIntegrated risk scoring model for predicting dynamic hip screw treatment outcome of intertrochanteric fracture.
BACKGROUND Dynamic hip screw (DHS) is a common device for treating intertrochanteric fracture (ITF). Various risk factors have been reported to be associated with the operative treatment outcome. However, an integrated risk scoring prediction model is lacking. In this study, we aimed to develop a prediction model for treatment outcome of intertrochanteric fracture. METHODS We analyzed 442 AO/...
متن کاملThe prognostic value of tip-to-apex distance (TAD index) in intertrochanteric fractures fixed by dynamic hip screw
Intertrochanteric fractures (ITFs) are the most common type of fractures requiring surgical intervention. They also have the highest surgical mortality among orthopedic operations. Among the many different techniques used for fixation of this type of fracture, use of the Dynamic Hip Screw (DHS) has gained wide acceptance. This current study was designed to assess positive predictive value of ti...
متن کاملImplant failure in a proximal femoral fracture treated with dynamic hip screw fixation
Dynamic hip screw fixation is a common orthopaedic procedure and to date, still can cause difficulties to the senior trauma surgeon. We present a case where an extra-capsular fracture of the proximal femur was managed with a dynamic hip screw (DHS) fixation. She proceeded to the operating theatre, where the fracture was stabilized with a 75-mm DHS and short-barrelled plate. The implant position...
متن کاملOutcomes Of Distal Femur Fracture Treated With Dynamic Condylar Screw.
BACKROUND Implants for open reduction and internal fixation of distal femoral fracture includes angle blade plate, rush nails, enders nail and interlocking nails. But all these devices are technically demanding and less effective in providing inter-fragmentary compression in osteoporotic bones. These problems can be solved with dynamic condylar screw (DCS).The objective of the study was to dete...
